Our beginning: Moon + Moksha was founded in 2016 by Lydia Bowen, a yoga teacher and Reiki practitioner, after a series of injuries that left her feeling lost and hopeless. Armed with a background in design, and a lot of down time, Lydia began to make designs she then put on shirts. A few friends wanted to buy them, and then more. Soon, afterwards, she opened an online store and has expanded into creating high performance leggings and shorts!
Our practices: Our apparel is Fair Labor made and printed with eco-friendly ink in North America. We also carry size XL, because every body is beautiful. Our garments are made to order, not in mass quantities, so you know that there was a lot of attention to detail in every piece.
Our mission: To inspire others, embrace all women, have ethical business practices, and give back.
We noticed a lot of yoga apparel companies don't carry XL sizes, promote body shaming and only cater to a stereotypical yogi. We believe every body is a yoga body. We believe that the greatest benefits of yoga are how much better you will feel, not in how it will make you look. We carry XL sizes and are looking to expand to embrace even more diverse sizes.
We currently donate 10% of our net profits to Charity:water (charitywater.org). 100% of their donations goes to bringing clean water to impoverished areas in Africa, Asia, and South America. Clean water helps girls stay in school, helps women start business, and saves lives.
Our mantra: Be kind, Inspire Others + Stay True
Moon + Moksha is a woman owned company.
